Christmas And The Day After

X'Mas Happy Late At Night
On Hong Xiang's bed [nice, proper shot at last]

What else to say but it's been a while!

Have been:

  1. Mass dancing
  2. Reading [!]
  3. Out and about
  4. Painting banner [nicest ever]
  5. Singing and listening
  6. Everything else other than SCHOOLWORK

and I presume I will be dead with the week following seeing that the 3/7 of the week taken up by OGL camp, Boxing Day already gone, Friday's NYJC Band Concert and the weekend [NEW YEAR].

More about that later.

CHRISTMAS was:

1. K-Box joy
Singing became shouting to the extent of feeling strain in my cords but continued otherwise since it was midway in a "high" song. Regret that as it left me quite "short-ranged" during the rest of the songs.

2. Orchard Road

Avoiding "snow" [read: foam] and walking in the alleys of Orchard Road pretending to be Japanese. Then came our refuge in the small ledge off the escalator leading from Takashimaya to Lucky Plaza hiding from the foam under the security of guards at our back [who were later replaced by ah-lians whom we thought would protect us from any foamsprays]. Became the cleanest 5 walking on Orchard Road which was the scene of a war peppered by sounds of sprays and the ever present smell of aerosol.

We were attacked in the end while on our way out of Orchard [it was a get-sprayed-or-suffocate situation] hence flushing all our efforts down the drain.

Note: Fake Snow Sprays should be banned. The Foam makes the ground slippery. We witnessed about 20 falls when people make their way down the escalator. Ouch

3. Hong Xiang's House

Walked from Orchard to River Valley and then detour-ed to Muhd Sultan and Clarke Quay. From there, we tried to flag down cabs which would have been easy if not for the people who make their way ahead of us and catch the cab that was obviously heading our way. Tsk [just a little trouble].

Then on, late night McDonald's, Playstation, photos, iBook, sleeping and mad rummaging of various Friendster profiles and blogs.

X'Mas Sleeping
asleep

funfunfun

Wonder when I'll be able to do that again [especially with 18 looming ahead].

This Is Not A Movie Review

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

If you are 18 and above (or just want to risk it if you are not), this is the thrill of the week.

Went out with Adeline, Rui Long, Kah Sing, and Hong Xiang yesterday, and end up sneaking about Orchard Cineleisure.

The person at the counter told us that The Descent is a movie "about 6 friends reuniting after a tragedy" but I guess this is not exactly the case. More of, 6 friends reuniting and a bloodbath happens. 6 young women deep in the Appalachians on their annual adventure trip... [professional reviews HERE]

I feel that this movie should have do have beefed up with the first tragedy and not rush so much into the main part [though the rush caused the audience stress - the events happen so fast there is barely time for popcorn].

Raw emotions and fear run aloof throughout the movie, and the change of friends to fear of each other as a result of the dark, claustrophobia-inducing tunnels together with the presence of an entirely new species really make one wonder if this would be the case in a real life climb in any dark and squashed up cave.

The producers played with camera angles, striking fear when least expected [after which the strikes came on and on throughout the duration of the movie]. Screams form both men and women were heard, and Hokkien expletives came from the row behind me after every "shock".

I give it, 3.5 out of 5 [for all the blood and the attempt of re-enacting the scene of the blood-drenched Carrie]

One Out Of Many

This is quite accurate.. try it here!

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend you are looking for:
You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:
Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education:
You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:
You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.

How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.

Who is your true self:
You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

The Story Of Charlie Bravo

What have I been doing?

Monday
Attempts to buy cloth at Suntec [wrong place] but ended up playing at No.1 Costume Costume. Attempt to sleep earlier failed due to sleep hormones only kicking in from 3+ am. Watched Lord of the Rings and Naruto till 7+ am.
FIRST DAY NO SLEEP

Tuesday
Started with Naruto. Was not late for meeting (due to sleep early/not sleep technique). Then went to meet juniors and visited abovementioned costume shop (again) to find a mask for the band camp's night walk. Went home, slacked and did up the new CNY Carnival committee allocation thing before leaving for OG chalet (endless swimming on the dining table and PS2-ing to Dynasty Warriors).
SECOND DAY NO SLEEP

Wednesday
Went to Tee Jay again for Programmes meeting (slow paced given the fact that two of the three at the meeting missed Mr Zhou Gong). Then at band camp, was hungry and hence me Jacyln and Zheng Yi started eating in front of the combin-ing juniors (evil).
WENT HOME TO SLEEP AND DID NOT GO BACK TO CHALET

Thursday
Met Xi-Wei at Redhill MRT station to make our way to Central Manpower Base (CMPB) to hand up our note that read something like:" ..... is a student of Temasek Junior College......" otherwise known as DEFERMENT! We realised that our dream posting in NS would be to wear a No. 3 and work at the registration counter at CMPB. That is for now that is wouldnt know if that would be a good thing or just plain boring.

Band camp has quite low turnout (the alumni I mean) and strangely I did not make it for any of the Night Walk's station. Instead me and Isaac came up with "quirky" meanings to the brands Adidas, Nike, Asics and the like (ask us). McDonald's supper came and we spent about 2 hours at Kallang Mc's, becoming the most noisy bunch of customers. Listen to Cheng Xi and Ivan talk about the life of a typical 19th to 21st year life of a Singaporean male was interesting (EVIL!! EVIL!!) but I guess it did not deter more than it interest lar.
THIRD DAY NO SLEEP

Friday
Went home early morning (since we thought that we were too tired to keep ourselves entertained during that day's activities). Fell asleep for awhile before waking up late to the stipulated meeting time with Isacc. With both of us late all the time for it we only have 2+ hours to sing at K-Box. We then went to Dhoby Ghaut to play X-Box for about 4 hours, having fun at Dynasty Warriors, Star Wars and Marvel: The Rise Of The Imperfects.

I have a new addition to my list of "want to be".
