Depression is just around the corner.

Sometimes, emotions get the better of him since all of his friends are torn away either by national duties needing to be served, tertiary education looming ahead, or work that has them slogging away.

He cannot help but feel useless, since he is not tied up with much obligations to fulfill. In which case, he yearns for time to rewind 3 months back, since it's when the island escapade was still novel.

Fate is cruel. Why bring people together, only to make them go separate ways when the links between them are so strong. Guess that's life. He cannot help but swear to himself that he will never let any of his friends slip through his fingers again, a big mistake he committed a few years back.

Why all these negative emotions? Probably due to his loss of faith in himself, since he has disappointed himself many times already. One more chance, that's all he gives himself, and that's what he'll do. This time around, he's determined to live a hard life, one that takes away many comforts and privileges, replacing with it discipline. It will be just like how his friends are living.
