My Easy Silence
Cobwebs aside, I'm back.
Issues:
1. Easy Silence
This song by the Dixie Chicks (you know how much I love them) is about how the protagonist's husband (Adrian Pasdar, Natalie Maines' husband, actor of Nathan Petrelli in NBC's Heroes) provides her shelter and peace in times of turmoil after the "incident".
After watching "Shut Up And Sing", a docu-movie by the band about the same "incident", I finally understand why Martie choked up and teared in the 'live' performance of Easy Silence at the American Music Awards.
And since I have a little more time now than at BMT, I shall pick up the guitar, and this will be the first song I learn officially (not counting Jason Mraz's You And I Both that I learned during BMT using Ortega Mark Richardo Joseph's guitar).
2. Postings
Batch 01/07 of BMTC POP-ed and received our postings. For those who indicated YES in the Express Interest survey, most ended up in SISPEC, and the few left went to OCS (don't ask for my view here, I might get charged!). For those who indicated NO in the same survey, MOST combat fit personnel got posted to combat units, and a few (15) lucky personnel (what goes around comes around!!) got posted to SAF Bands! Lucky me. I believe in KARMA!
So life as a bandsman trainee is down to 7 weeks, and it is not as easy as many of you out there think it is. Sigh, just hope I don't get posted out. Stupid knee!
In any case, I am going tokickstart restart my immense interest in making music. Probably form a band, like the Dixie Chicks (2 guys, a girl, 2 guitars, and a cello/bass).
Anyway, my camp's Nee Soon Camp. 1.75 hour journey there, 1.5 hour journey back if I'm lucky. It's like school all overy again! Guess I'll survive well, since Yinglei endured Choa Chu Kang-TJC anyway.
Lastly, The Observatory's new album (A Far Cry From Here) is out, and heard bits of it at HMV yesterday, really good (as usual). Packaging's not black this time around, but RED! Packed like a parcel, it looks really good, but couldnt figure out how to open when 'inspecting' it yesterday. Got to get it soon (unless someone's kind enough? :D). Anyone wants to go for the album launch?
I'll be back, more often! :D
